AS YOU WISH

hey..... i am Bakhtawar Nageen doing my bachelors from Lahore school of economics it was very difficult for me to shift from pre- medical to this line but it was a  good step . After matric i thought it is very easy to become doctor but it is NOT...but what to do my mother wanted it...=p i love reading i can spend whole day reading i have read books of many authors like Judith Mcnaught ,Eric Segal , Danielle Steel, Umera Ahmed , Farhat Ishtiaq but my favorite is Judith through reading I get to know about of lots of things and reading is a source of awareness for me  and end of all filled my emptiness i think.. I love to watch TV , shopping and love to roam . i love to observe people through different angles . i hate sports i don't know how people watch and waste there time watching sports and worst of all get depressed by this LOL..
I have done internship in kids club and Lahore cadet school i think if we want to make Pakistan a better place we should work on a education sector we should improve standard of education and give our attention to government school because i think majority of population of Pakistan can not afford private schools .
My biggest aim is to be a csp officer through this i will do something for the welfare of  Pakistan  in future Inshallah . Pakistan has potential and if we want to do something for the betterment of it  we have to change our perception about it we should think positive and be optimist about it then we can improve and be proud of it.

From Lanterns to Lights by Muhammad Umer

A Creative Writer, A Thought Provoking Poet, A Professional Blogger, An Energetic Sportsman, An Emerging Entrepreneur and above all A PATRIOT

Born to a middle class family in a small town of Punjab i was raised in a cultural and moral stew of life. I inherited ethical values and religious norms as second nature from my forefathers. Studying in the best possible institution of a small town i dreamed of becoming a commercial pilot. Walking on the earth with my eyes scanning the skies for any plane flying over me i got to know that even the skies are not the limit. I always dreamed big and knew that i have to be the best in whatever i do.

Translating brain waves to ink has always broaden my thinking horizon and somehow helped me in becoming a better person. Showing people the glimpses of my inner world has always given me a feeling of contentment.

Rhyming the words to writing stanzas and bringing them together to make a poem has always given me an immense pleasure. This beautiful game of words has always fascinated me. Starting from some broken lines and refining them to beautiful stanzas has made me a perfectionist.

I have always wanted to channel my energy in something more purposeful and blogging provided me with the platform. New emerging technologies has always awestruck me and writing about them became my passion. I am writing technology related articles on various websites providing people with the most updated information about the latest gadgets. I am currently writing for itechbook.net.

I started of my clothing business on a very small scale and learned to survive in the most competitive environment. I always try put into practice all the things that i learn during my education at Lahore School Of Economics. My clothing company "Revolutions" is still in the initial phase but i believe that with constant hard work i would be able to put it against the biggest brands of the time.

Sports has always been one of the things that gave me true happiness. I have been an active sportsman since my school days. I loved watching and playing cricket. I participated in the Intra-LSE Badminton tournament and I am also currently playing as a fast bowler in "LSE Bandits" which is a well reputed team in LSE.

It didn't took me long to realize in order to achieve my dreams in life i have to travel the distance from Lanterns to Lights.  This road may seem a little bumpy for now but the hardships of this journey is teaching me the perseverance, new lessons and telling me that it is all worth the ending. Every setting sun whispers in my ear that i am a day shorter to my destiny. The destiny i always dreamed for, the destiny i have been working so hard for. Every rising sun tells me  that the losses of yesterday were nothing but the lessons for future. So Gear up for the new challenges which will make you a better winner in your life.

“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.” ― Robert Frost

Hello! My name is Rabia Ishaq but people call me sheikh, I am studying at ‘Lahore School of Economics’ majors in marketing. Life without activity and interest is like food without the salt.

Traveling and photography is my passion. Whenever I have an opportunity to visit a new place, whether a village, city, mountain or seaside, I never miss it. It is so thrilling to see a new place and meet different kind of people. Whenever I travel round a new place, I take my camera and shot interesting pictures of people, building, monuments, bazaar etc. It gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure. I always capture all the moments that I spend to recall myself what I was and what I am now. Traveling also educate me and refresh my mind, body and soul.  Though these hobbies are expensive, but love them.

Me, Myself and I

My name is Minahil Rana, and I’m currently a second year student in Marketing and Media at Lahore School of Economics. I love travelling, hiking, reading and art; whether it is in sketches, watercolors or photography. I have spent most of my life in Canada mainly around the greater Toronto area. I came to Pakistan almost two years ago and I really like it here except for the blistering summers. I have a few notable achievements that I am proud of. Firstly, I got accepted into all the Universities of my choice after appearing in my high schools honor roll (similar to Deans List). I even attended one university for a whole year (the campus was beautiful!). Secondly, I did a summer internship with a Toronto based Fashion Designer in which I learnt a lot about the artisans in the Classical genre of music, and best of all, I helped design their gowns. Currently I am working in AIESEC in their Outgoing Exchange department. My most recent achievement is related to AIESEC, I was chosen as Vice President Communications of an exchange campaign for 6 different universities in Lahore.  It turned out to be the best and most successful campaign that this organization has had since its inception in LUMS Lahore.

Alex, the African Grey
My cat: Spooky
I have a lot of pets, I absolutely love animals. At the moment I have 2 cats, a Guinea pig, an African Grey Parrot and various other Australian large and small birds. Animals give me a sense of calm and really like observing their behaviors.
With my current experience in Pakistan, I feel we lack community values, which is not surprising since we live in such a hierarchical, status conscious society. But I think our youth has the ability to overlook these differences and help children with disabilities, minorities and those whom suffer with poverty. In today’s Pakistan we have a hundred and one ways to help such individuals integrate into society, but we lack consciousness or motivation to do something about the prevailing issues. I have started to try and do my part as a Pakistani citizen, some weekends I go and help dyslexic children at Paidal (if anyone’s interested in helping, message me!). If everyone starts taking out 2-3 hours from their week and helps in some sort of social development initiative I believe our youth has the ability to do anything. It is then that we will strive and actually bring change to Pakistan.

A girl with dreams

A

lisha Sajjal. Definitely not named after Alisha Chinoi, the singer, and nor is Sajjal my father’s name. Sometimes stubborn, sad, irritated but usually energetic and happy. With a very eminent greeting style (hi) in Lse and helping nature I think I am a good friend indeed. People are usually curious that how I can be so lively even in early hours of the morning. So here’s the answer, everything happens for good and most vital lesson is to live and to let live. Although each one has been through every aspect of life but only few realize and learn what is being taught in every chapter. Once you realize its true aroma then nobody can stop you from being happy. At least that is what I believe. :D

Let your words be few, but your exposures many…

Photography was at all times a passion for me. I always found a deep relation between camera and life. Capturing photos is like phenomena of life in which there is lesson of focusing on what is important and capturing remarkable moments and through editing, changing the bad ones. That’s life. As pictures are developed from negatives so is life from hardships. Those sparkling eyes with smiley faces, attitudes, emotions, seasons, compassion and what not, photography has the power to entwine everything together.

Besides photography, I have great interest in Arts too. My mom used to tell me that creativity runs in the family and I realized it when I won an inter-school art competition .From there my confidence boost  up and not only in arts but I started taking interest in poetry, cooking, athletics and interior decoration. Sooner I won many races on provisional level as well as become a good cook. I wrote many poems and Ghazals. I believe habit of writing is essential at any age, it helps to express and everything depends on expression, from a simple class quiz to the catastrophes of life.

As time passed I thought of having some practical experiences too beside my superb academic record,so in 2010-2011 I did internships at Corvit Communication Company and another at Garrison Lahore Education system. They were really happy with my work in Finance, Sales and HR department. I always adore variations, life is imperfect and change is inevitable so the biggest change was when I left my accounting field after A-levels and entered in majors in marketing from Lahore School of Economics.

My belief; People of Pakistan are creative and with hard work Pakistan’s image could be improved, and the famous saying that be the change you want to see. Change can come from within us and even a small change, in a single soul could transform at least a family, a group, a city, a country and later the whole world. So it all depends on thinking, that needs to be altered, and the courage to do something. Even a very small contribution individually could revise the image of Pakistan.

Lend Me Your Ear…

As I begin to pen down about myself it seems like a tricky task. It makes me nostalgic and takes me back to the times when writing about one’s own self meant only five lines. Those were the days of innocence but today it’s a different story. I have started to realize what I am and I flabbergast myself. It’s amazing how time and experiences mould us overtime and creates a whole new being out of us.
Being the oldest child in the family I have always earned love and care from everyone around but this didn’t turn me into a spoiled little monster. My parents have raised me wonderfully and I owe them a lot. They have inculcated into me the basic ethics and morals which is a grand gift. This has made me into a person who is patient enough to deal with all sort of trouble without cracking under pressure. I love to make others happy and it just makes me contended. I love to dedicate my time and energy to social causes. I have been working with SOS village since I was eight years old, it satisfies me to help the community and bring the difference to the society even if it’s slight. I love to help others around me without the hope of any reward because I believe in karma. I have joined my grandfather’s NPO which deals in helping the underprivileged people of Pakistan. It’s a small step but I believe that every little effort eventually leads to something immense.
I enjoy cooking and experimenting with food. I often cook whenever I am low. It just boosts my mood. I plan to open up a customized cake shop after my bachelors.
I love to jot down my thoughts and my acquaintances say that I have great writing skills. I aspire and I dream for I believe that all dreams can come true sooner or later. I am very creative and imaginative. Its my aim to write books for children. I love to read novels and its been my hobby since I was five. I am very trustworthy and I often become the agony aunt. I enjoy singing and I often sing when I am with my friends or sisters. I am learning violin these days as I have longed to learn this instrument. It is something that soothes my nerves and gives me individuality. I just want to see how far I can go therefore I grab every decent opportunity that comes my way. I have recently been selected by AIESEC and I plan to go to Singapore for a global development program. It’s my wish to do something for under privileged children as it pains me to see them desperate for basic necessities.
I am shy and reserved at first but when people get to know me, I am a very comfortable person to get along with. I adore my family and my friends and can do anything to bring a spark to their life.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.

Live the life you have imagined.”

Brought to you by Nabeeha Gazelle Amer!!

Its not always about how good you're, Its about how good you want to be.
I know its hard to describe your own self but one should not seek praise and always be prepared for criticism. I'm not the best, nor am I a perfect being. I'm glad to be the one, who's wanting to be all that with an effort and a proper learning process.
Well, let me not just be a philosopher for once and introduce myself. My name is Nabeeha Gazelle Amer, and i'm currently enrolled as a BBA student at Lahore School of Economics. I completed my O levels and A levels from Beaconhouse. I'm not more of a reader but a writer. I  like being creative and coming up with new writings. I've worked as an intern in the accounts department at a pharmaceutical company Dermagen Pharma, which is my dad's privately owned firm. I am not fond of watching movies nor do I follow TV shows, but infact I love spending time around with friends and family.
I believe most of the people are looking for a solution, a way to become good. However there is no instant solution, the only way to learn is through experience and mistakes. I've experienced the times when I was a bad student, with bad grades, but with continuous effort and learning I am able to bring myself up. To conclude I would just say I'm not a philosopher, I'm just a keen observer. I believe, my vision of where or who I want to be is the greatest asset I have, without having a goal it's difficult to score high. And with this thought I'm sure I can do some thing to make my country a better place, because to be a champion, one always has to fight another game! :)

Hiba Mazhar.

Hello, People! This is me, Hiba Mazhar. My motto in life is to NEVER EVER RELY ON ANYBODY. You need your stuff done? Do it Yourself! I am a pure feminist and I like doing things my own way. I am a very career oriented person. My biggest wish is to open up an international franchise in my home city (Lahore) and I intend to do this on my own expenses so yes that makes me a man with a big plan. :P  I am always in search of as much work experience as I can possibly get. My best internship was at Barclays Bank PLC where I actually got a chance to see the real cooperate world scenario.
For me, life is a never ending quest of truth and that is one inspiration that keeps me so close to my passion: Photography. For me, photography is a passion that you can share with the most important people in your life. You can even pass it down to the next generation, and spur their love of this amazing art. It is like music. There are no language barriers or culture barriers. I get to communicate with people around the world with a single image and once I start  getting my  work out there, I am only amazed at the connections I make. I don’t like carrying my camera around the university and prove my worth as the saying goes, “Photography is all about secrets. The secrets we all have and will never tell.”
*Besides, all my friends know where to get their Facebook profile pictures from. :P

I strongly believe that every person is born with a talent. Many people have trouble discovering what interests they might have which they might pursue as a career path. What a person considers as fun when they are in their teens can change considerably as their interaction with the world widens beyond their immediate family and friends in their local community. In my case, my friends play a vital role in giving me the confidence I stand with today. Thank you, guys! :'D
Yet another new hobby I have managed to take care of very well is Movie Making. I like playing around with new soft wares and make slideshows and movies. It is a helpful hobby as it also helps me with many of my university group projects. Here is my latest movie on street children:

All your passions apart, you need a firm footing to survive in this barbaric and a never-ending deceitful world. Being an introvert, it always took me a while to bring myself at ease. It also took a lot of effort to gather courage to speak up in public. Now, all my friends reading this know that’s true. :P
For the person I am today, it took me 3 internships, 2 online jobs, a bunch of die-heart friends and a lot of support from my parents (May Allah always bless them with health and happiness, AMEN). For now, I am very focused and all I ask Allah Miyan is to give me more and more strength to face any hardships coming my way and make me a stronger person. Amen.

-Thank you. :)

A small town girl

There have been many moments in everyone’s life when they want to explore themselves inside out. We know that we have the right talent, the spark, the charisma to influence people but sometimes we need someone to kindle that fire. To make us do what we want to.
All my school life I had been an extremely hyper and active student. The most important time of the year was school elections and selection. They were the most awaited event of the year. I remember, I used to be so thrilled and excited that all day I would sit down making badges, banners and emotionally bribing my friends and making promises with peers to give their votes to me. Finally on the result days, reciting all the surah’s I used to remember and praying that my name would be called, and when it was, pretending that it was least expected, though it was never true.
BEST FRIENDS

I had to face few hard tests of life that made me what I am today. Trust me, we are the most negligible and ungrateful creatures on earth. Teaching the underprivileged children was what gave me inner peace. My mother (may Allah bless her soul) started a small institution where we provided students with help regarding their studies, it was basically a small tuition center but due to the burden of studies and my responsibility as a candidate towards my university I was unable to give proper time so I thought of leaving it for a while.
As far as my achievements are concerned it is said that "There's always room for self-improvement". I was once victim of humiliation because of me being fat. Reducing from 190 pounds to 120 pounds was though a very tough task but it paid me really well.  I now am a source of inspiration for many who have known me for a long time. This boosted my courage and self-confidence and has helped me to be what I am today.

BEST FRIENDS

Though I am not blessed with a great voice but still I like to sing. I sing for myself and I really enjoy doing that. I am a decent cook. It is one of my favorite hobbies and this was one the reasons of being 190 pounds. I cook all kinds of foods. A smile and a word of appreciation from my family or guests after the meal makes me feel as if I have been paid for my hard work. I love to travel too.
I had been part of the event management and have also been persistent with it as my part time job for almost three year now. I can’t restrict myself to one genre so have gained the experience to work in a bank and also with and for different NGOs. I have also been awarded for collecting funds from different organizations.
When I joined LSE I too was among the “Sufferers”, emotional weakness being a drawback of my personality. I am really short tempered and sometimes my friends tease me by saying “Is kay 15 minute pooray hogai hain”. Over the time I have really worked on myself and people who know me can’t deny this fact which is another characteristic that I am flexible. Yet there is so much more to learn and so much to explore.
Pakistan can be a better place to live in if every person is ready to sacrifice a bit from his or her personal interest for the welfare of Pakistan because every little effort counts. If 176,745,364 people contribute with few drops of water we can easily make a sea. In short, before pointing on others, what the politician are doing, one should consider him in the same trial. If everyone starts thinking on one question that “with so many facilities and the platform I am provided with, am I doing something for the country?” what am I doing for my own self?” If everyone is able to answer this question I believe we will make a change.

An Introduction To What Happened

Aman Khan

AN INTRODUCTION TO WHAT HAPPENED

My name is M.Amanullah khan and i am a student in lahore school of economics. I have remained a very active member of the sports society till my school life and have been playing cricket and tennis on the inter regional level from Beaconhouse.I did my O and A levels from the same school and joined LSE in 2011. Secondly, i have been taking part in the
co curricular activites and other functions that were organised inside and outside school. I have a habit of doing adventerous things and wanted to join pak army but couldn't since my brother had already joined it and my parents were reluctant to send another child away due to the hectic schedule they have to face. I hate smoking and would never do it. I like listening  music, going out with my family and friends, watching tv and reading newspaper. I think Pakistan is a country that has a lot of  potential to excel in all fields. We just need a true, sincere leadership that is serious in rendering the best services to the people of this nation. Also the people need to get more patriotic in their thinking and should try and ensure that they support a system that is free from all corrupt and disbalanced practices. Lastly i would conclude that my study experience in lahore school has been quite good so far and i try to enjoy every moment with my friends. Marketing as a major is quite diverse and allows me to think and visualise various aspects in different dimensions. I hope that in future i become more active in sports again and try n come upto the goals that i want to achieve in fields of my career.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” - Rumi

A lot more is to be done to seek what lies within us, at least this is what I believe and for me Sufism is the way out. Beginning off with the proper introduction my name is Syed Morrawat Ali and I am a proud Lahori since I came into existence. I’m some how very much obsessed to the music I hear; I prefer to listen trance and Sufism in general as these two genres narrate myself. I’m impressed by the work done by various sufis, Jalal-ud-Din Muhammad Rumi, Shah Shamas Tabraiz, and Bulleh Shah in particular. I love the way their kalams are used to by Abida Parveen and Ravi Shankar to make me realize what actually I am, as for me their music works as a eye opener and this is why their work inspires me. Coming on towards Trance, I must say I have a bit of party side in me which signifies my love for this genre. Armin van Buuren, Schiller, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Antillas, Dead mau5 and Mord Fustang are the party rockers for me.

I have done my A-levels from Lahore Grammar School and for now I am aiming towards completing my bachelors in marketing from Lahore School. Once I'm done with my bachelors, I hope to work towards reconciliation of myself and look onto if I can be of any help for my country as this is what in the end which matters the most.
Apart from music, I am also into sports horse riding and football is on the top priority list. I also have horses tamed at my farm, for now I have a American breed horse; Cleveland. I am also into football and after coming to Lahore School of Economics this interest gradually developed into a passion and I am looking forward to taking it more seriously. Moreover, how can I forget to mention Manchester United is the team for me.

Change youself to make a better Pakistan

Hello friends. My name is Umar Imran and i'm currently studying marketing at the Lahore school of economics.I seem to be a friendly dude to most people since i like to joke around most of the time.I have always believed in helping people more than even myself and that is the reason why i always believed in giving charity to the needy.I have worked as an intern at the SOS village where i helped different children in their grooming and education and after that i believed that Pakistan should market its education system by allowing its job applicants to spend at least a month in educating helpless children before being provided a job. This would improve the literacy rate of the country by a large extent.Another important thing that i have learnt in my life is that one should never feel depressed for any reason and should look at the people who are below him. That is the only thing which would motivate him through out his life by learning from his past and making a better present.Studying marketing has given me many ideas on improving the structure of our country.I believe that by even picking up litter from streets and cleaning the society can make you love your country more.Secondly by donating a very little part of your pocket moneys can create a great difference in the country. In the end i would say that do what your heart tells you to do because one must enjoy life to the fullest
Hi, my name is Haseeb Alam Durrani and i am currently a student at the Lahore School of economics. I am in my sophomore year and have opted for marketing as my major. Before entering the Lahore School i graduated from Lacas with my O and A levels.
My interests are playing table tennis, badminton and most of all poker. Poker is not my interest its actually my weakness, regardless of the fact that i lose most of the games and owe a reasonably good amount of money to my friends i just never stop coming back. Then again, life is a poker game, one should play it, bet on it and win it. God willing i will win it, eventually. Not to portray myself as a bad person or something I've done internships or more or less voluntary work at Shaukat Khanum and Rising Sun institute. The experience was quite good. My job there was just to put a smile on the faces of the children who unfortunately were cancer patients fighting for their lives.
Talking about Pakistan, according to me the most important thing for our country is to unite as one nation. Discriminations should be stopped whether one is pathan or punjabi, we are Pakistanis nonetheless. Pakistan needs these aspects to be its strengths rather than its weaknesses. Another name for target killing these days is the killings of pathans. Pakistan to everyone is the same and we should take a step to unite as one nation. No province, no city just one country and everyone living in it. Alternate Pakistan is equal to United Pakistan.
PS: Vote for Imran Khan. lets give the guy a chance to do something different for the country.

Hello, My name is MIAN SOHAIB ALI. Cricket, is one of my favourite game which delighted me a lot. I am playing cricket from 5th Grade. I am a good batsman  and use to play cricket in streets and grounds. I and my friends have  made  a team  and play matches with other teams of nearby areas.  My passion is to become a good batsman and want to play for Pakistan cricket team. But, unfortunately It could not do it because of my studies. I also like to watch cricket matches  on T.V.  A couple of year back,  I  went to  Qaddafi stadium Lahore to watch  a match  between Pakistan and South Africa in. It was so interested and excited match.  It was a memorable match in my life ever i seen. For the first time i saw that  people from our country were not only supporting  Pakistan but also supporting South Africa.  They equally appreciate to both teams. But they become more excited when Pakistani player were hit shoots or got wickets. That supportive attitude and spirit made  the match very interesting and very memorable. Basically cricket is a pressure game. Even though everyone enjoys during watching match but also gets lots of tension.
My favourite cricket team is Pakistan but my favourite batsman  is Ricky Ponting from Australia And favourite bowler is Glenn McGrath who was also belong to Australia.
Now a days cricket has become more popular worldwide.  Lots of money has been involved in Cricket. Due to this involvement Player have become more greedy and Many player have be caught due to match fixing.
