What If We Had a Time-Machine

Pakistan was carved out in desperate urgency. It came into existence with horrible loss of life and property, and the migration of millions of dazed and destitute men, women, and children. The cost was heavy in terms of human suffering. But what the Muslims wanted and what they achieved was a homeland of their own. They now had the freedom to worship, practice their religious faith and develop their culture. Moreover, independence had opened up a bright future for the Muslims, who hoped for a better standard of living, economic development, prosperity and a fuller life. What if Pakistan was a war free, peaceful, loving country, our opinions mattered and were friends instead of puppets of first world nations.
Pakistan has been in a serious tension since it got independence. The problems with Pakistan are from the day one. When sub-continent was divided in two states, the powers were not shared properly among the two. India which was the other state (Stake holders) makes problems for the Pakistan so that they can make this state fail.  But somehow due to good leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan survived as a state.  But Pakistan is still struggling after 65 years.  Democracy was selected as a system for Pakistan but we have never seen real democracy in our country. It is due to the power of military establishment. Dictators ruled Pakistan and became a destroying factor for our country due to the power they have. 65 years ago it was a under developing country and it is still a country with title ‘under developing ’. Why is it so? It is a need of an hour to understand the fact that why are we behind the other successful states. What changes should be done to make to make a new Pakistan? What are the problems of Pakistan till now? And what is a solution to those problems? What is Pakistan in my vision? And Where I want Pakistan to be? These are all the clicks in my minds when I see Pakistan as a failed state. Alternative solutions also clicked my mind and I countered it with my words here. The truth in this possibility can only be found by comprehensive run of alternatives that were available in crucial decision-making moments in history of Pakistan. The fun part in writing a alternate history is you never know what`s coming next and this becomes even harder to scribble in my weak vocabulary. I guess it would be something like what if or Fatherland.
What if we had a time machine to go back and rewrite the history, to avoid all those military coups, to stop wars with India, to avert the passing of discriminatory laws in constitution, to concentrate more on education system, to avoid plunging in to the war of terrorism and to reduce the tension between religions as well as ethnic groups.
If we had made right decisions after 1947 so we could say at-least on of these things in 2013.

1.            Pakistan 1 Rupee is equal to 1 US Dollars.
2.            Pakistan intellects had won 5 Noble prizes in their works in Physics, Chemistry, Literature and Peace.
3.            Pakistani politicians are among the most well educated, democratic and fair.
4.            Pakistan produced scientists and engineers that made strong influence in the modern sciences.
5.            Pakistan is self-sufficient country that exports its technologies to the world.
6.            Pakistan has 5 Universities in the top 50 Universities in the world.
7.            UN ranked Pakistan among the world top 10 happiest nations
8.            Students from Europe and America compete to study in limited no of seats in Universities of Pakistan.
9.            Pakistan is a peaceful country, where all ethnic groups and religions have the same right freedom to practice.
10.        Pakistan believes to build strong and peaceful relations to its neighbors.
11.        Pakistan spent 25 percent of its budget in education

This is a story of that hypothetical country with similar political scenario as Pakistan that came into existence in 1947. This country is a result of decisions that now we believe destroyed Pakistan.

Saving Pakistan

It’s a tale of sixty five sad years, a story of dismay, disloyalty and disparity. So many innocent lives were sacrificed to make the Islamic Republic State of become independent and sovereign. But as the time went on, slowly and gradually, joys of freedom became sorrows of slavery, dreams of prosperity became nightmares of poverty and selfishness, greed and injustice took its place

For four times the constitution has ripped apart by the notorious army dictators. When democracy was given its turn the corrupt and incompetent politicians looted the country’s wealth.
However the hope is still not lost. Pakistan still has lots of potential to stand up again and let the world know that we are to be considered a nation with pride, a nation with honor and a nation with self esteem. We have the ability to become of the great nations ever existed and it’s not some fairy tale I am talking about its quite possible but we have to take considerable actions to do so.
In our country the system which going on is a parliamentary system and it is an obstacle towards the wellbeing of our country. It has given the right to the wrong doers to take control and rule

the masses. We need uniformity in our system through which we can treat every province and every state equally. The decisions have to be the same all over the country and with so many different political parties working at the same time for different interests it is not possible.
The party would intend to bring equality and justice to all, in the country. Resources will be equally divided. There would be no class difference, everyone will have equal and rightful share in the state.  As an Islamic state, Pakistan, the ruling governemt will follow the guidance of Holy Phrophet (P.B.U.H) and the way he ran the Islamic State.

Bisman Shaukat

My name is Bisman Shaukat and I am studying in Lahore school of economics. I chose marketing as my major because I have interest in this field and as well as in media studies. I like to do practical and creative work. I worked at Askari Bank ltd. (Model Town branch) and at Synergy Advertising Agency. I am also running my business of clothing named as “Black”.

I also have interest in football and I am playing football since 2004, I was selected in my school, college and university team and been to India twice and UK thrice as a football player and as well as an athlete. I also participated in inter-country tournaments and visited different cities.

I think we can bring change in Pakistan by first improving our own self and bring patience in our self. We can also bring change by voting and selecting the educated heads for our country and by bringing the awareness and importance of education in rural areas so that our country’s literacy rate increases.

Ammar Zaidi

  • Helloo Everyone!! My name is Ali Ammar Zaidi.I started of my journey from DIVISIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOL and completed my studies till intermediate from there. Currently I am doing BBA HONS from LAHORE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS major in Marketing and minor in Media Studies.
The twists and turns of life has always fascinated me. I always wanted to be a Professional Singer but the religious background of my family never allowed me to follow my Passion. I always loved to Sing. During my college days me and a few friends of mine made up an amateur band. It was the best time of my life. We sang on few occasions like college functions and music Galas. We all were so into it that we wrote some songs all by ourselves.
One of our Songs got hit whose vocals were wriiten by me. The Song Name is Meri Zindagi. I Would like to share the starting lines of that song..
“MERI ZINDAGI MEIN JITNAY BHI GHAM THAY
PHOLOON MEIN JO SIMTAY TERE SANG THAY
DIL KAY RASTYA MEIN TUNAY CHORAA MERAA SATH
BHOOLA NAH WHO DIN BHOOLI NAH WHO RAAT”

That period time was the best time of my life. But even the beautiful of the days has to end. When we garaduated from the college we all went in different directions and my singing got lost somewhere. I still have the passion for singing and I am just waiting for the right time to relaunch myself and live my dreams. If life gets kind enough to give me a chance to be a professional singer I would not miss it.

This is the Time...

Hello people! I’m Maham Anjum.
I am currently doing my Bachelors in Marketing with minor in Media Studies from Lahore School of Economics (LSE). Helping others make me feel happy and it takes a lot of time for me to make new friends.
I did my Olevels from Beaconhouse School System and Alevels from Lahore Grammar School. Media Studies is one my favorite subjects, that is the reason why I chose Media Studies with Marketing in LSE. My dream was to be a part on National College of Arts (NCA) but couldn’t get in due to some reasons (my drawing sucks!). I find media studies an interesting and creative subject because it’s different from the rest; it includes a lot of practical work and keeps you entertained. I believe we all should do something for our country; this is the time, stand against terrorism and corruption for the betterment of Pakistan. As said by Muhammad Ali Jinnah:

“Democracy is in the blood of Musalmans, who look upon complete equality of manhood [mankind]…[and] believe in fraternity, equality and liberty.”

Thankyou ! :)
