The façade behind every face.

I believe in the fact that every little part makes up the whole picture. Whether it is a simple smile, an innocent gesture, unsaid word or a catastrophe of absurd incidents, it makes us who we are and where we stand now. This brings me to who I am, behind the face. J
My name is Hareem and I’m currently doing bachelors from Lahore School of economics. Having loved biology for most of my life and excelling with top marks in pre-med it was kind of an anticlimactic thing when I came in this field, but my parents (who are both specialized doctors by the way) wanted me to choose marketing as a career and I actually find that I love it. I’m not a very social person, but the relations that I do make, I value them a lot. I appreciate loyalty, sincerity and the ability to love in a person; for that is what I think makes up the true character. I love to read books. For me it has been the only thread connecting me to sanity for as long as I could remember the source of peace for me. So I love to read each and every kind of book. Historical, political or merely fiction, it’s been my hobby since I was a kid. I like old music, and old movies. My favorite actors are Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck from the old movies. I have an elder sister who is in Islamabad in NUST nowadays, and my parents are currently in Sialkot so I live in a hostel here. I find the experience fascinating.
I have done voluntary work in my father’s hospital, Sialkot medical Complex, as I believe in helping others and that our smallest bit of kindness goes a long way. And some voluntary teaching at an orphanage school in Bahawalpur. Since my father was in army I’ve lived in many cities, from the deserts to the hills of Murree, which makes me love nature and appreciate the knowledge you acquire from simply travelling. I used to write for my college magazine as I love to write and people think I have good expression. Also I’m a free-lance writer; I hope to improve my skills as much as I can from this work. I’ve written articles in a few magazines for the youth as well. I took part in the YLEC (young learner’s English conference) in Murree, which gave the youth a platform to speak and bring up ideas for the country.
I am a true patriot. For me, I believe in a democratic state, where everyone, whether it’s a poor worker or a bureaucrat, has the right to speak up for themselves and to be heard, a country which represents us as we, the youth, makes it where it stands now and where it to be.
“Maybe this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness we return to books: to find words for what we already know”.

The Journey has just Begun

The last child of a Punjabi Pathan family who turned out to be a son has gone through 19 years of his life. My parents raised me under strict supervision. I still remember those days when I was supposed to sleep by 8:30 sharp. I was not allowed to go out with my friends, had to maintain discipline in my life. All of a sudden things started to change I was growing up. I started to take part in the part time business which my father used to do, a small scale construction business. Playing a part in earning some errands for the family and proving that I can really do something productive made my parents become
proud of me.My father got transferred to Karachi and my elder brother went to Australia for higher studies. At the age of 17 I was the only male who was left behind to handle the internal and external affairs of the house. From utility bills to management of monthly cash flows I was the only one who managed every single thing as my mother was a house wife and knew less about the cold realities of the world that exists outside of  a comfortable house. This not only built confidence in me but also widened my exposure to the real world with which I would b e dealing in the future. Taking my majors as Marketing was my father’s decision. He adviced me to take marketing after judging my capabilities and skills.

Pakistan is my nation. I don’t plan to settle abroad in future. I”ll prefer to work for my country rather than  settling abroad as a third class citizen. People often say Pakistan looks like a failed state but I have a big NO for that. Pakistan as a country has every thing except a good public. It is us who are ruining our country instead of making it a heaven for it’s residents. Businessmen have issues regarding power, natural gas, crime, corruption. The question arises aren’t we the one who have brought our country to such horrible situation. Putting our energies on the wrong direction has brought us to this stage where warriors lean to the wall saving their lives instead of fighting with bravery. I as a true lover of Pakistan instead of dying for my country would prefer to work for my nation.I believe we as a nation should stand against the corrupt political, judicial and
Bureaucratic culture of the country. Doing this single thing we might achieve the highest ranks among the developing countries. Social work is something which is already being supervised by local and international NGO’s . Our image in the international market has been brought down drastically by external forces which are unidentified.
It's not about who's got powers, morons.
Lastly It's not about who's got powers, morons. It's about who's not afraid. And who's going to do what has to be done.”

A PATRIOTIC LEARNER

  • Assalamo Alikum Everyone!!!
Life is an excursion where one keeps on learning and gets inspired to become person which he loves to be and yes I am a learner. I am Fatima C. Qureshi.I am Currently doing Bba(hons) Major in Marketing and minor in Media studies from Lahore school of economics. I always wanted to try new things in life and I ended up doing Marketing. In life whenever it comes to decision making I have always listened to what my heart says and have always found accomplishment later on because I believe that for anything to be perfect you need the passion to do it and so here I am doing Major in marketing. I have learned in life that one should always choose the field he has interest in and you are going to notice that all your dreams will come true following that domain. You yourself are going to experience all those things which you always wanted from life. I love to play basketball, badminton, volleyball and table tennis. Swimming is also one of the things I love to do in summers. One of the favorite quotes which have always inspired me is
“Reach high for star lies hidden in your soul. Dream deep for every dream precedes the goal”.(P.Vaull Star)
I have done my o and a levels from Beacon house school system. I was also a member of the social welfare society in our school. I have visited many old age homes where I was able to meet different aged people of our society and was able to sneak in darker side of life.
One of the people I look forward to is Imran Khan when it comes to alternate Pakistan for me which is very bright. Pakistan is going to be a place free of terrorism very soon. Where everyone will have the necessities of life and Insha Allah that day is not far when every child of Pakistan will be holding a book. Furthermore I believe to make that possible we all will have to put in our efforts to make this place a better place. Education is the most important ingredient of being successful whenever it comes to the practical life. Therefore free education should be provided in Pakistan so that everyone has the equal opportunity in life to be successful because I believe that everyone deserves to be happy. We all should have optimistic approach when it comes to our beloved country Pakistan.

    Ahmed Iqbal

Hello guys!! My name is Ahmed Iqbal and currently I’m doing my BBA in Marketing and Media Studies from Lahore School of Economics. I have done my O and A levels from Beacon-house School System, Faisalabad.

As my interest are in badminton, swimming and music. I don’t want to be a professional musician or something like but I like to keep updating my collection regarding to it whether by updating songs library or keep buying musical instruments. Yes, swimming is something for which I’m crazy for.
As I belong to a family whose ancestors have a work of construction company, so have gained much knowledge about the construction techniques by joining office on regular basis in vacations, whenever I start going for work, every time there is something new to learn which always increment the knowledge of mine regarding my own family business.I have strong concepts of marketing and can become a successful marketer in future and make a "SHINING PAKISTAN"
Honesty is the best policy, I so much believe in this term. We should be honest to each and every around us; we can take example from Pakistan government if they start doing each and everything with honesty, we can produce as much as we never produced, this will help Pakistan to be in a rank in which now America, Russia, China and Japan are, but the thing is we Pakistan won’t change it self but we public have to change for a betterment of Pakistan.

    This Is Me

Sometimes it's hard  to introduce yourself because you know yourself so well that you do not know where to start with. Mehra was the name given to me at my birth, but later it was changed to Mishal, born on May 20,1992. Name Mishal means star in my culture. I grew up in Lahore but my roots belong to Gojra(village). I am with one sister and one brother.I studied from Garrison Academy, because my father was in army. I was a Pre Medical student,i joined LSE because i couldn't get admission in government medical college.

My personality is one of my best assets that what i think. I'am outgoing and genuinely care about other people but mostly people think i am rude and arrogant. The thing I dislike I have a hard time expressing my emotions, or letting people in on what is bothering me because I assume that gives them the power to hurt me. And I don't like for anyone to see me cry. I hold back a lot and I don't like that about me.

In addition I like science, arts and music, especially classical English novels and I love to read very much. One of my best novels is The Kite Runner and Remember me. I am a people person. I don't normally like being alone. However, there are times. My family and my friends are my biggest weakness :')

My father always wanted me to do grater then he did, not to dispel our talents. And here I am at the “Lahore School of Economics”,doing BBA in marketing (my bad luck), confident in myself and ready to learn more.I am born in a political family so politics is in my blood :D i truly want to be in politics , its my dream come true. i am a great supporter of PPP (Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto).

I think we can change Pakistan, by getting united. This is the only Element which we don't find in many Pakistanis. We distributed ourselves in different sects. The day we all Pakistanis get united inshAllah our country will progress by thick and thin.

    This is the Time...

    Hello people! I’m Maham Anjum.
I am currently doing my Bachelors in Marketing with minor in Media Studies from Lahore School of Economics (LSE). Helping others make me feel happy and it takes a lot of time for me to make new friends.
I did my Olevels from Beaconhouse School System and Alevels from Lahore Grammar School. Media Studies is one my favorite subjects, that is the reason why I chose Media Studies with Marketing in LSE. My dream was to be a part on National College of Arts (NCA) but couldn’t get in due to some reasons (my drawing sucks!). I find media studies an interesting and creative subject because it’s different from the rest; it includes a lot of practical work and keeps you entertained. I believe we all should do something for our country; this is the time, stand against terrorism and corruption for the betterment of Pakistan. As said by Muhammad Ali Jinnah:

“Democracy is in the blood of Musalmans, who look upon complete equality of manhood [mankind]…[and] believe in fraternity, equality and liberty.”

    Thankyou ! :)

    Reflection

Some says I am arrogant, some says I have attitude while some finds the inner me and they are the one I really value in my life. So here I am, Aali Ahmad, an elder son in my small family. A lot famous for my yawns and yeah obviously sleeping habit but still have my own world and people who know me found me interesting not only for my jokes but also how frequently I switch moods :D. Studying Marketing from Lahore School of Economics was always a dream for me and dreams should lead to a true path so here I am sitting on my comfortable couch and giving a reflection of what I have achieved and learned in my voyage of life.

When comes to experiences, my best internship was with EMCO tiles company in Accounts department. I actually experienced the realistic situation and learned a lot. Moreover with a good academic record I love playing or watching cricket and basketball. I believe Allah has created everyone for some specific purpose and it’s good to be helpful and thank Him for everything .I consider by enjoying little things in life one could not only forget sorrows but also later realize that those were actually the big things in life that left an impact. On contrary worrying is a total waste of time .It does not change anything. All it does is steal joy and keep you very busy doing nothing. Writing was my thing from the start .Initially copying assignments for and from my friends to later actually writing my experiences and views of life I grabbed attention of all.

From the very start I have this passion for music and always found myself singing in bathroom. My acquaintances appreciate my voice and maybe later will look forward to continue at a higher level. My dream is to go on a world tour and find some time in solitary to enjoy nature. In short, Today will never come again. Be a blessing .Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal and not wound.

    Seemal Jamshed

Hello guys! My name is Seemal Jamshed and I am currently studying BBA Marketing and Media Studies from Lahore School of Economics.
I have always been a very happy-go-lucky person which has helped me overcome many obstacles in my life quickly. I like interacting with people and making new friends. I love dedicating my time to different social causes. I enjoy, or rather my two passions are writing and speaking. I like to express my thoughts, views and opinions in a creative way. I have participated in debating and given a lot of public speeches because this gives me a platform to express my thoughts and ideas. I believe that Pakistanis should be more expressive in their thoughts so that they can steer our country towards the right path and show the world that we cannot be suppressed. Writing is my passion and I would hopefully pursue a career in this field. Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else. It gives me a platform to explore new ideas, write down my thoughts and be whoever I want to be. Journalism is the field that attracts me the most in writing. Pakistan is a country that has a lot of positive events going on and I would love to be a journalist to cover those events and present them out to the world.  I have done a lot of internships in different magazines and have also done freelance writing, helping me gain experience for the future. I believe that everyone should express their thoughts in writing. Pakistan is a country that needs more writers to promote freedom of expressing ideas and opinions. Freedom of speech should also be promoted in this country otherwise we will always be suppressed by the other countries in the world.  I believe that a good standard of education in our country can help in uniting everyone to work towards the progress of Pakistan.

    Get Inspired, Be Inspirational

I was born a premature baby, weighing only 2.5 pounds. My mother tells me that it was a miracle; I can’t blame her even if she was exaggerating because my elder brother is disabled and he was also premature and due to the lack of responsibility of the doctors. So moving forward talking about what my life is made of, I would say it has always been about realizing the responsibility I really have in my family, and mostly I have been very slow to realize it. Coming from a family who is crazy about cricket I am no different. From a very early age I am following Pakistan’s cricket team all over the world. And the passion has been no less when it comes to play the game. My sister should be given full responsibility of teaching me this game. My schooling is from The Lahore Alma, I studied there for 15 years. I was the captain of the cricket and football team over there. And from the past 7 years I have been playing football for my sector team, AA and I play as a striker.
My life as a student of LSE is mostly inspired by my sister. I take her as a role model and tend to follow her footsteps in studying, but that is a very tough thing to do as she has been a silver medalist in BBA and MBA.  I tend to fall in love with any girl with curly hair, colored eyes and a fair color.  A combination of the three would do wonders but any one is sweet too. People might argue that the personality should matter more, but what I feel is that no one has a bad personality they only act like they have one. Apart from this, I like to watch every movie I possibly can, and I am head over heels in love with Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Viccaji and the legs of Jacqueline Fernandez.
I find the little chances I get to get inspired by anyone, and I do not leave any small single opportunity to inspire anyone. My friends take me as a love-guru and mostly I do not let them down. I tend to make very few friends, and the ones I am friends with I take them for a very long period of my life. There have been many health issues too, related to my knees and head. The head issue changed my life. It made me eat antidepressants as if they were regular meals of my life. When I get depressed I listen to Eminem, when I’m frustrated I play football and when I get angry I run away from the world. One positively negative thing I have learned is that no one gives a shit to you and the sooner you stop giving a shit to anyone the better. I’ll love anyone who loves me and I’ll rip him or her apart that tend to do any kind of harm to me or my loved ones.

    For some im "Junkie"

Hi All!!! I am Anns Amer, 21, and 5 11”. My friends sometimes call me a junkie!! Not because I’m a drunk (hold your thoughts!!) but apparently as I am always eating fast food! I have this desire to thank those who approved Mc Donalds 24 hour; college life without mc-fries wouldn’t have been so much fun!!
It is everything but an easy task for one to reflect on their own abilities, yet it’s the best thing at the end since we all love to talk about our-selves. I grew up in the textile hub of Pakistan in the small and integrated community of Faisalabad. Coming to Lahore at one of the famous and highly active communities such as that at LSE was a huge challenge to overcome which would not have been possible without my friends whom I’d say sum up to form my college education! I enjoy life and always try to simplify for what unfortunately reality has made a very complicated life for everyone is these hard political times. My friends say I am humble, honest and organized, though I lack time management. When I was young, I wanted to travel the world. It always fascinates me what lies behind the famous wall of China, or far north of Pakistan; the weather and life near the amazing valleys of Hunza and Swat.
Manchester of Pakistan”, yes, that is what my hometown Faisalabad is called. Being from an Industrial family that has been associated with the field of Business for past 4 decades, I grew up in an environment that enhanced my interest in the Industrial Sector of Pakistan. Reading newspaper’s headlines stating variations in Interest rates, GDP, taxes and tariffs, I had naturally developed my interest for the economy of my country.
LC (letter of credit), wrap and weft, costing, finance, accounts, and hand printing of cloth are some of the “general” terms that elaborate my grooming. High School students are normally not familiar with all these complicated terms but I’ve been learning textile business since I was in grade 7!
My confidence of speaking in business meetings and dealing with local workers in their own language has made me mature among my peers. During the years of my school life, I have always been one of the active students. My interaction with teachers and students has always boosted my confidence. My father has always emphasized on shaping my personal character and thus, I’ve always tried to remain up to the expectations of my parents, teachers and peers.
Creativity in Arts adds color’s to life and thus to keep myself more diverse and up-to-date, I am always excited to work in dramas. I’ve worked with effective teams and have always enjoyed! During the past five years, I had participated in various school plays in different classes including plays based on ‘Romeo, Juliet’, ‘Heer Ranjha’, ‘Marriage bureau’, politics, and local tv programs.
Even outside the school, I have been active in social work. I’ve organized tours to the SOS village, participated actively in the fund raising activity for the recent flood victims and was also one of the main organizer for the play for “All Pakistan Women Association (APWA)”, for charity purposes. Our team had worked so hard for the fund raising and we were able to collect an amount of RS 1 million for the flood victims! I believe in education beyond the boundaries books and seek for firsthand opportunities in any field I work. I strongly believe that I must contribute to my Country to succeed in life

Whenever I have set a goal in life, my mind has always focused on the example set by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. She was born into a poor French family, but she rose to become one of the world’s premier fashion icons,  designing her elegant fashions of the “little black dress”,  her signature cardigan jacket, and her famous “Chanel” perfume. With her new and simple, easy to wear designs, she became a chief innovator of fashion. For me life is nothing but a runway and we are the talented models.
The journey from a newborn to being a young girl has never been easy. I've learnt life is full of surprises and no matter how good or bad one has to face them with strength and courage. Interacting with all sorts of people I've come to realize that everyone's just not worth the trust and effort, so i keep my social circle minimal.my love and passion for FASHION has been a gift of God. My inspiration is real women that keeps her head high and faces the world with great determination.I believe life is how u perceive things around you and it has different meaning for everyone. my life is full of happiness, freedom, best friends, love, satisfaction and contentment. I couldn't have asked God for anything better.
Going back in times my childhood had been a complete bliss surrounded by very special people of my life. Being crazy and immature, laughing out for no reason, making fun of people and doing the most obnoxious things ever.Every moment was just perfect and still something i cherish. And now as i look ahead to all those upcoming years ,i see myself reaching the heights. The path maybe undecided but motivation remains.

    One Step Ahead!

    Hi Everyone!
I am Hassan Masood and I am a student of BBA Marketing and Media Studies at Lahore School Of Economics.
My formula for life is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself to the best I can.
It is quite hard for me to say that i am passionate about a single thing, so let me just say that my biggest passion of all is photography. My friends say that it is in my genes. Photography for me is basically an inspiration, derived from my grandfather and my dad. Both of them were brilliant at it.

The other thing that I am passionate about is business studies. Photography may be something a lot more valuable than it, but to survive, in a country like ours, one has to have a backup plan to earn a living. In future, i would love to be an entrepreneur and keep my passion of photography as a hobby. Music is something I am addicted to. I may not be a good singer but I am a good listener. I think that music is something that expresses your core feelings which are not easily said in words.
Everyone has his/her own aims in life and so do I. Firstly, I have this usual aim of being successful like most of us. And, secondly as I am a patriot, I would love to be in a position where I can represent my nation and my country. Since my college life I have always participated in every activity in which I had a chance to represent my country.

According to my point of view, I believe that all our nation requires is a unity. We are divided into religious views and even on the basis of different casts and languages. There can’t be a better example than every year one city celebrates both Eids a day before the rest of the country.
In my opinion, the day we will stand united as a nation, will be the day that our conditions would start to get better.
hi .... i am Khadija sajjad currently completing my bachelors from Lahore school of economics but my home city is Faisalabad  i am in Lahore just because of lse . friendly optimistic and kind these are some of my qualities that everyone admire . I have got lots of friends i love to spend time with them. I love shopping, i can spend my whole day shopping I love travelling love to explore i am a adventurous kind of a person. I have done my a levels from LGS  my parents has given me every freedom and everything i ever wanted and i am thankful to them .
i have done  internship in textile company and i think Pakistan has future in it and through this we can improve employment rate . Pakistan is facing so many problems and the biggest reason is negative image that we have set in our minds .WE don't want to change it  if we ever wanted Pakistan to be a better place we should change .

TO FIND FAULT IS EASY ,TO DO BETTER IS DIFFICULT

    Here it goes

Social acceptance, adaptability and optimism are some of the personality traits that I have never been able to abandon. I have traveled to different places all my life and studied in different schools as my father happens to be a military official and that explains my personality.

I have a flexible attitude towards people and their opinions and neither do I hold prejudices or grudges against them. I generally don’t judge people unless they mean to bother me. I am not a feminist by nature but I strongly believe that women in our Pakistan should receive more respect and rights. Therefore I would certainly like to do something for this cause whenever possible.

In my O and A levels I actively participated in sports especially basket ball and represented my school in several inter matches. Also singing for the house band at school as the lead vocalist and performing at several events boosted my self confidence.

Socializing with all types of people made me define my group of best friends and I tend to be very protective and defensive about them wherever required. I regard good friends as an essential part of life.
Apart from all the exposure I received I have always maintained the limits that my family and society has defined. I have always been pampered by my  parents and my easy going attitude partially worries them . I love the way i have been brought up and the environment I have been brought up in as it makes me realize that change happens and we just need to go with the flow.

From my experience at LSE I have learnt that being naive is not so vital for social survival as mush as being diplomatic is. To sum up I am jolly, funny, spontaneous, random and unpredictable.
